James Short is the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Head of Global Sanctions & Screening (GSS) and Global Head GBM AML. James is responsible for leading the strategy, transformation and management of both the GSS and GBM AML programs. James has over 15 years of experience in remediating regulatory issues and building successful AML and Sanctions compliance programs for financial institutions, MSB’s and online payment platforms. While at Scotiabank James has also had accountability as the Enterprise Head of Anti Bribery and Corruption and accountability for supporting the Enterprise Transaction Monitoring program. Prior to joining Scotiabank, James worked at Promontory Financial Group, where he advised a wide variety of regulated entities on sensitive regulatory, anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance matters, including remediation of regulatory enforcement actions.
